Position: International Procurement Manager

Location: Santa Clara, CA

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  •   Supplier management: all the OEM suppliers are in Asia Pacific.
  •   Purchase from Asia Pacific suppliers according to NETGEAR's engineering specifications.
  •   Evaluate the quality, capacity and capability of the various suppliers.
  •   Audit suppliers' capacity, cost structure, and capability in order to execute the appropriate bidding process for NETGEAR's procurement.
  •   Build up a good communication channel between NETGEAR and the suppliers.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  •   BS/BA from an accredited University/College required.
  •   Must have 5+ years procurement experience in a high tech environment.
  •   Ability to speak Mandarin and/or Chinese a plus.
  •   Networking industry experience also a plus.
  •   Must be able to travel.

Position: Far East Commodity Buyer

  •   Manage Asia Pacific vendor relationship to ensure on-time delivery, quality and cost objectives.
  •   Place purchase orders with suppliers to meet sales demand.
  •   Negotiate with the vendors for business terms and conditions.
  •   Resolve or assist the other departments to resolve any issues regarding suppliers.
  •   Monitor open purchase orders and inventory level to expedite or push out the shipment.

Position: Product Line Manager

Location: Santa Clara, CA.

Summary Description:
A Product Line Manager at NETGEAR's Product Management and Marketing group will drive the product strategy and roadmap for a segment of NETGEAR's product portfolio for Home and Small Office networking to successful launch. She/He will ensure that the products sustain substantial revenue growth and leading market and competitive positions worldwide. NETGEAR's product lines include Internet Routers and Gateways, Wireless Networking, Powerline Networking, Phoneline Networking, Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet Switches, Hubs and Adapters, Network Attached Storage Servers, Print Servers, and Appliance Servers. The Product Line Manager will team closely with the Product-line management, R&D, Product Delivery Marketing, Marketing Communications, Operations, Finance and Sales and NETGEAR's partners to ensure all key aspects of the business are addressed and collateral, marketing and sales plans as well as constructive business development and training are implemented for success of the product line.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  •   Develop a Product Strategy and Roadmap for the product line that can sustain a competitive advantage and is supported by NETGEAR management.
  • Ensure a compelling Business Case & Product Requirements Plan is developed with thorough market and customer research, reviewed and approved by management.
  •   Drive the NPI process for new products to achieve the time to market, revenue and profitability goals.
  •   Create a compelling Value Proposition that best meets the Target Customer needs and a go-to-market strategy and plan teaming with Delivery, Marketing and Sales.
  •   Prepare all collateral (Product Sheets, Ad Copies, Channel Fact Sheets, Positioning Statements, PR, etc.) for a successful handover and launch with Marcom and Sales.
  •   Participate and drive Business Development, Training, and Industry Events activities worldwide for his/her responsible products.
  •   Constructive teaming across the value-chain organization, mature communication with partners, peers and managers, skillful verbal and writing abilities and effective customer presentation skills.

Education / Certification:

  •   BA/BSc minimum from an accredited university/college.
  •   Masters degree/MBA desired.

Professional Qualifications:

  •   7 Years minimum experience in Product Management/Marketing.
  •   Knowledge of networking technologies and trends.
  •   Experience with consumer, retail, or small business markets.

Position: Senior RF Engineer

NETGEAR is a leader of user-friendly connectivity products for home and small office applications. Products range from routers, hubs, switches, and wireless access points with 802.11a or 802.11b functionality. NETGEAR is a dynamic company with dedicated and skilled people.

Requirements

  •   Education: BSEE. (MSEE preferred)
  •   5 and 10 years R&D experience in RF design at the board level from 0 to 6GHz. Experience of RF IC design is a plus.
  •   Must have successfully designed, implemented and debugged several RF boards up to 2.5 GHz or 5.5GHz for wireless LAN products.
  •   Experience with one or several of the following highly desirable: VCO's, PLL, PA, LNA, mixers, filters, QPSK modulation/demodulation.
  •   Good knowledge of various physical layer architectures and standards, including OFDM, 802.11b, 802.11g or 802.11a.
  •   Experience with one/more of the following simulation program: ADS, SPICE, Touchstone. Knowledge of MathCad, Matlab, and LabVIEW is a plus.
  •   Experience with qualifying and testing of physical layer 802.11b, 802.11g or 802.11a products (physical layer).
  •   Experience with improving and reviewing the performance of wireless LAN boards in a short time.
  •   Good knowledge of communication theory and signal processing.
  •   Very good knowledge of RF indoor propagation and models, etc. Very good knowledge of antenna characterization. Solid experience in RF board layout, shielding, EMC, etc.
  •   Solid experience with RF lab equipment. Experience with VSA, spectrum analyzer, VSG, network analyzer, oscilloscope, power meter, etc. Able to issue, implement and/or improve on test procedures.
  •   Excellent practical sense. Debugged a board, changing SMD components (from 0402), soldering RF cable or adapters must not be a problem, etc.
  •   Demonstrated oral and written communications skills, as the position requires extensive vendor and overseas manufacturing interface. Knowledge of MS office and MS project. Good project management experience is mandatory. Able to properly document and write reports.
  •   Autonomous and self-driven and working well within a small team.

Responsibilities
The candidate will be overseeing and developing 2.4GHz and 5GHz WLAN products. Develop shielding designs as needed to comply with FCC and performance requirements. Develop characterization and production test procedures for RF subsystems of WLAN product reference designs. Integrate and test RF subsystems of WLAN product reference designs. Work to improve the Bill of Materials for the Antenna, FEIC subsystems, and RF subsystem in terms of cost and performance. Support the certification and compliance testing of the company's product reference designs, as needed (e.g. FCC, WECA/WiFi).

The designs will be targeted at USB, CardBus, PCMCIA, mini-PCI, PCI, and Access Point form factors. Lead the development of a cost effective solution. Work with 3rd party suppliers to develop RF circuitry to address the power amplifier, filtering, and switching subsystem for the reference design. Supervise the detailed design and implementation of the FR subsystems for the targeted form factors.
